This cream and navy skirt set from Valentino Boutique, c. 1968, is a chic interpretation of the mod style of its day. Crafted from a fine wool, both pieces are fully lined. The skirt has a pleated front and does up with 6 rounded plastic buttons; it is in excellent condition. The top has two buttons on each cuff (an extra is included), two real pockets, and does up in the back with a metal zipper. It is in good condition, with a couple of small faults. Firstly, there is a small (2mm x 3mm) hole on the back of the left arm. Furthermore, there was a stain on the right pocket resulting from a professional dry cleaner’s attempt to remove a previous stain. In an attempt to salvage this valuable piece, a seamstress moved a faux pocket from the right breast to hide the damage. This handiwork can be further examined in the last photo; even person, it is difficult to notice without a close inspection. The set overall presents beautifully, and has been professional dry cleaned.
