Lady Jane of Carnaby Street
1960s British Boutique Black Satin Mini Tunic Dress
$325.00
This 1960s mini tunic dress is from the iconic British boutique Lady Jane. Lady Jane was an early member of the now-legendary British Boutique Movement, as the first shop on Carnaby Street specializing in women's fashion. They were known for their fun, youth-oriented fashions, as well as their inventive publicity stunts. They were once ticketed for a window display of live models changing outfits - not for indecency, but for obstructing the sidewalk with the large crowd that quickly gathered.
This dress was made from unlined black satin with a floral lurex brocade trim. It features a high neck, an inverted pleat in the back and eight buttons fastening the front. The bottom button is mismatched, but it's otherwise in very good condition. It has been professionally dry-cleaned and is ready to wear.
